Drogkaris Prokopios was born in Sparta, Greece in 1982. He holds a Diploma in Information and Communication Systems Engineering from University of the Aegean, Greece and an MSc in Information Systems from City University London, UK.

Currently he is a Ph.D. candidate, supervised by Prof. S. Gritzalis, at the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean, Greece.

He has experience in the fields of IT Security and e-Government environments through participation in research projects (proposals and projects’ implementation) along to strong academic background in the field of ICT through research publications and academic teaching.

He is an author of nine scientific publications, an editorial board member in International Journal on Advances in Internet Technology, IARIA Publications and has served as a member on program and organizing committees at several scientific international and european conferences. 

His main research interests include Privacy Enchancing Technologies (PET), Public Key Infrastructures (PKI), Federated Identities and Cloud Computing.
