Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion students will:

  1. Understand the fundamental principles of privacy and data protection with regard to the study, design, operation and security of information systems.
  2. Understand the legal and regulatory framework governing information privacy and data protection and be able to identify weaknesses in the design and operation of information and communication systems and to develop solutions for improvement.
  3. Be able to identify the fundamental legal issues pertaining to the security of an information system, so as to design applications and solutions that comply with the regulatory framework.
  4. Develop awareness with regard to the protection of the fundamental rights of privacy, personal data protection and freedom of communication
