EUDOXOS:
Developing Tele-education Facilities for the Islands of the East Aegean
(Financed through the Operational Programme for Education and Initial Training)

Description:
The aim of this project is to develop the necessary technological infrastructure for supporting the provision of distance learning courses over the world wide web. In this context we studied the effective use of advanced tools for tele-teaching and tele-learning mostly in the Aegean Archipelagos.

The tools used in this project are WhitePine's Classpoint, and WebCT.
In the context of EUDOXOS we have

  • Developed pilot courses for the teaching of Statistics, Number Theory, Combinatorics and Probability Theory.
  • Developed, run and evaluated the pilot use of tools for tele-teaching and learning of Mathematics in the islands of Samos and Mytilene.
  • Have provided guidelines for the choice and effective use of tele-education tools for the implementation of tele-education courses in the Aegean Archipelagos.
