Dr Euripidis Loukis is Associate Professor of Information Systems & Decision Support Systems at the Department of Information & Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean. He is also Professor at the postgraduate program of the National Academy of Public Administration, in the area of e-Government, and at the Postgraduate Program 'Athens MBA' of the National Technical University of Athens and the Athens University of Economics and Business, in the area of information systems and decision support systems. He has been member of the Strategic Planning Unit and ICTs Advisor of the Ministry to the Presidency of Government (1991-2002), Scientific Director (1994-1996) of the Operational Program for the Modernization of Public Administration (with a total budget 300.000.000 Euro) and Information Systems Advisor at the Ministry of Culture and Sport (1995-2000). Also he has been National Representative of Greece in the ‘Telematics for Administration Committee’ (TAC) – Programme ‘Interchange of Data between Administrations’ (IDA) (1994-2000) of the DGIII, and also in the ‘Telematics for Administration Programme’ (1994-1998) of the DGXIII. Dr Euripidis Loukis has extensive experience from numerous national and international research projects, in cooperation with the Federation of Greek Industries, the Hellenic Banks Association, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), the University of Leuven, the National Environmental Research Institute of Denmark, the ministry of Environment of Lower Saxony, the Fondazione IARD, etc. Recently he has been Project Manager for the University of the Aegean of the Project ICTE-PAN (Methodologies and Tools for Building Intelligent Collaboration and Transaction Environments in Public Administration Networks), which has been financed by the Information Society Technologies (IST) R&D Programme of the European Union and successfully completed in February 2005, honoured with the ‘Project of the Month’ award in August 2004. Currently he is Project Manager for the University of the Aegean of the Project ERMIONE (E-Learning Resource Management Service for Interoperability Networks in the European Cultural Heritage Domain) of the eTEN Programme of the European Union.
