Quality assurance

In collaboration with the University of the Aegean Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP), the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering has drafted and implemented its Quality Policy, fully aligned with the University's Quality Policy. The Department Quality Policy was approved at session 10/15.2.2019 of the Department Assembly.

The Quality Policy expresses the Department's commitment to providing high-quality education and knowledge production, while ensuring transparency, equal treatment, and academic ethics in all Department activities.

Core principles and objectives

The Department quality policy seeks to ensure that:

• the structure and organization of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes follow international standards and modern technology trends, with clearly defined learning outcomes and qualifications aligned with the European and National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education,
• through its study programmes and infrastructure, the Department provides students with sufficient knowledge and skills to meet social and economic needs for qualified information and communication systems engineers,
• the teaching work offered is of high quality and effectiveness,
• teaching staff have strong qualifications and keep up with current scientific developments in relevant fields,
• high-quality, internationally recognized research is produced and continuously enriches teaching goals and content,
• high-quality, modern support services are offered to students and alumni,
• the Department strengthens extroversion, collaboration with local and national stakeholders, and transparency in its operation,
• through its institutional bodies and the Internal Quality Assurance System of the University of the Aegean, the Department monitors and continuously improves the quality of its actions.
