Course Content
Enterprise information systems (IS). Applying IS into businesses. Gaining competitive advantage through IS. Information technology infrastructure (software, hardware, communications and Internet). Business Intelligence. Enterprise applications. Electronic commerce. Enhancing decision support. Knowledge management. Ethical and social issues.
Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully fulfil the course requirements will have:
- The knowledge of understanding the role of Information Systems and the required technological infrastructure on organisations.
- The ability to identify the different types of Information Systems, to be able to assess the available technical solutions for the satisfaction of organisational problems/issues.
- The skill to identify the business environment and recognise opportunities for improvement on the efficiency and effectiveness of an organisation using Information Systems.

Assessment Methods / Grading
Lectures delivered using ppt slides. Students participate in in-class essays and have essays at home. Students study and discuss case studies in class. Educational material available in the eClass platform.
